Sheila Hatch
Over the past 25 years, I have had a professional life rich in working with myriads of people, from all walks of life, in many varied settings. While I have primarily worked in experiential education and the non-profit sector, other positions include managing a family business, inside sales and marketing, behaviorist in a health and wellness clinic, special education, and birth doula. The commonality amongst all these positions is empowering individuals to identify their strengths and create possibility within their lives and their communities. Becoming a mental health coach has been a natural evolution, allowing me to impact even more people and communities. By giving tools and guidance to stop pain cycles, I get to be part of someone’s path to creating what they want in life.
I first learned of Bowenwork when one of our children, then age 14, was suffering from POTS (postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome), Lyme’s disease, 2 other tick infections and mononucleosis. Their amazing team of specialists could not understand why someone so young, whose diseases were caught so early, was not recovering. The providers were out of possibilities and postulating that my child may have cancer, an autoimmune disease, or be permanently disabled. Determined to have a better outcome, I took our child to a Bowen practitioner. Over the next year of recovery, I noticed how often my child’s speed in recovery ebbed and flowed with their thoughts and emotions. That is what has led me to being both a Bowenwork practitioner and a mental health coach.
I have lived in beautiful downtown Dover, NH for over 25 years, residing with my husband of 25 years, our children, and handful of pets, in our historic 300 year old house. We have greatly enjoyed raising our three biological children and many adopted host students, imparting our belief that we all create our own reality. It has been an honor to journey with them as they grow into young adults, each one following their own path. When I am not with a client, I can usually be found pursuing my other passions: spending time with family or friends hiking on a trail, paddling on the water, traveling to new lands, or sitting around a fire.
